The Challenge
When NatWest merged with the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) – the largest ever IT migration in Europe – the eyes of the City were on the result. A single platform and process for 12,000 team members and customer service staff plus 1,500 part time staff had to be in place to immovable deadlines to exceed all the professional observers’ expectations.

What we did
This training was mission-critical. RBS and NatWest asked for Norton’s support to work with their in-house trainers to test the courses and devise a programme with consistently high delivery standards that included induction, sales & service and daily teller procedures.

The Outcome
It took only 12 weeks from project inception to roll out and the bank told us that by using our trainers working side by side with the in-house team (rather than employing staff on short term contracts) they saved £1 million in overheads. We were absolutely delighted that RBS won a National Training Award for the outstanding success of its migration programme.
